I decided to subscribe to PH after many years of being away from the magazine. I last subscribed to PH in 2000. It was an awesome, cutting edge magazine back then. Guccione was the publisher, photographer, etc... The pictorals were off the charts and pushed the envelope. True erotica at its best! However, now, the magazine has as much umph as a well digested, coconut cream pie fart, if you know what I mean. It should not even carry the name "Penthouse" but rather Maxim, or some other overglorified wuss, puss magrag. What a waste of money! All of the models are from the R.K. world of adult entertainment. They are overly exposed already over the internet, where I can get them for free. The articles as cake and soft. Long gone is the day of hard-hitting journalistic pieces and exposes that put PH above Playboy in content and style. I am sorry to say that the original vision did not carry over after the passing of the magazine's originator. The direction the PH has been taken to is no different now than any other shabby piece of crap that is called adult entertainment in 2009. Thanks.

The magazine has a nice cover. A little disappointed with photo content. Photos are good, but looking for the exotic looking models. Been a reader of Playboy and like the models, but expected more exposure from Penthouse-which I got-and the sex advisor. I would like this to be the magazine I pick up again and again for the looks and written content.

If you are subscribing to this magazine because of the "edgy" pictorials, meaning something a little more explicit than Playboy, then you will be very disappoint. Penthouse has gone very soft on their pictorials, and the rest of the magazine might as well be Rolling Stone. Don't bother.

Use to be great pics and great articles....I always bought penthouse instead of playboy.........Now, I get better views on the internet for free........none are really worth buying....Penthouse had hit that perfect in between....it wasnt nasty raunch but it wasnt straight lace either.........anyway

This magazine was cutting edge when I used to sneak copies in high school. Got a subscription when I went away to college and it was awesome. Great pictorials (solo, girl on girl, boy/girl) that were ten fold better than Playboy ever was but just a hint below the raunch of Hustler. The boy/girl layouts were shared and enjoyed with my girl since they were more erotic than pure raunch. Now it's just Playboy with less ads. If you want the airbrushed unreal girls go with this or Playboy. For a better sex mag go with Hustler.

this magazine i personally think is much better than playboy. it has not lost its trueness with keeping plenty of models and many more shots. playboy lost its trueness because it has too many advertising and not enough girls and models.

What the hell happened to Penthouse?? You used to be teased with Playboy and PLEASED with Penthouse, now they barely show anything, the women are still beautiful, but they only tease you now, if I wanted that I would of subscribed to Playboy! WEAK!! I won't be renewing my subscription unless they go back to yester year and start showing the goods........Hustler here I come!! My wife was even disappointed!!

Honestly, I don't get this magazine for the articles. I think the articles and letters sound like ficticious boy-hood fantasies. The pictures make up for the bad writing though - and each one is worth a thousand words!

I have been subscribing to Penthouse for a few years now. And I have to say the magazine is not what it used to be. They used to get models before they went into porn and now they get them after. Also the quality of the women in the pictorials has been hit or miss from month to month. And the articles usually are not as interesting as they once were. I used to put Penthouse in the tasteful nudity magazine class with Playboy and well I just don't feel it deserves that distinction anymore.

Today's Penthouse...not what i was expecting. The first issue i recieved surprised me by not having one clear photo of a vagina. Instead I felt like i was turning the pages of an old Playboy, and I was only left guessing whether or not the shadows had allowed me to see "where I shouldn't", If you know what I mean. It isnt overall a bad mag, and the women are good quaility...i was just expecting "hustler" porn, and got the "disney" version instead.

To be completely honest, I was a little disappointed when my issues of Penthouse started arriving. They've changed the format a little over the past couple of years, and I think it's for the worse. The problem is that they have lost their image. The content isn't quite cool enough to be Maxim, and it isn't dirty enough to be Hustler. Penthouse seems to be caught in the middle with no real identity. Here's my honest opinion: if you're looking for dirty, go Hustler; if you're looking for hip, look to Maxim; if you're searching for a good magazine that bridges the gap, Playboy is still king. Penthouse is just a mediocre pretender.

Somebody decided to change the content a while back. Basically it went from a classy erotic X publication for everyone to a weak R skin mag for guys and lesbians. The price went down, but so did the content. I won't be renewing.

The articles are very good in this magazine. The pictorals are some of the very best. They show the women in different views that are very interesting and exciting.
