Thought Provoking and Insightful

I purchased this because, like most Catholic Americans, I felt set adrift by the church of my birth and wanted to know I was not alone. Also, I am feeling guilty about wanting to stay. The articles in Commonweal help me connect with other liberal Catholics and gives me hope in a Church often lacking it. It is a great read and highly recommended for its well written articles. Amazed at the great price offered here to make it affordable for me.

Commonweal Is Outstanding...Intelligent & Faith Building

Commonweal Is outstanding...intelligent and faith building. Although primarily written from a Roman Catholic perspective, it is essential reading from any point of view or faith tradition.I recommend it most highly!

Excellent commentary on current events from a Christian perspective

I find three or four articles worth reading in every issue for any Christian (or humanist for that measure) who values reflection on current events from a moral perspective. While it's Catholic in orientation, I think the majority of Christians and thinking persons would find much of value here.

The only really intellectually provocative publication that I see..

I started subscribing to the magazine in the 1960's and remained a subcriber for a few years. Resumed my susbscription in the early 2000 after this hiatus,This wasn't a reflection on the magazine so much as a change of focus on my part. The world has evolved and so have I. Yet, I find the quality of the content remains superior and stimlulating. I don't always agree with the opinions but I find them provocative and intersting.
