Magazine Overview

About Mad Magazine

Absurdity, nonsense, foolishness, senselessness, flippancy, preposterousness, absurdity, and improbability reign supreme in this monthly compendium of political and social satire - and toilet humor. Alfred E. Neuman himself would be proud of you for keeping to your childish roots and subscribing to Mad Magazine.

Boy's Favorite

This seems to be a perfect gift for a pre-teen young male--it's been a very popular gift every time I've chosen it and it's welcomed every month.

at age 72 my philosophy is What Me Worry

I remember reading the first and subsequent issues of Mad Magazine as I sat on the floor of our local drug store. The owner always let the kids read the comic books as a way of encouraging them read. I hid issues of Mad in my school books to read during class right up through my senior year in 1962. I love the deer in the headlight looks of my grandchildren when they do something stupid and I reply "What me Worry"?

Miss the old Mad

Much of my early life was heavily influenced by Mad comics and later magazines. I loved the satire and humerous spin on many of life's challanges. I believe that this is true because Mad was pioneer in that market. It is tough today to be humerous and semitasteful at the same time. Gross has become the new standard.

Don't tell my guilty pleasure

Hey, I'm 63 years old and still sneak reading Mad Magazine --shhhh! Because it is still funny. Sometimes I am laughing outloud. Like the end of year cover "Worst of 2012" depicting Lance Armstrong ala Alfred E. Neuman. And the story on not Walgreen's cheesy coupons, but Gangreen's cheesy sales coupons. Pepe Le Peu cologne and De-Icer in a 5 gallon size, on sale for $4.99 with coupon. Well, the artwork is what then pushes one over the edge. It may be sophomoric, but laughter's good for your health.

Mad about Mad

It's even better than when I was a kid. I'm smarter now and wonder how much I missed because of being " Young and Dumb ".
