What is wrong with TV Guide? A review of TV Guide Magazine, March 17, 2009 Submitted by: Elaine from Greenport, NY
I bought this issue to sort out my day time schedule. I am an old lady in a nursing home and I originally ordered TV guide to get a good day schedule program and there don't seem to be any in the issue. Everything is focused on evening programs and sports only. Please add in the day time programs someway, somehow. Elaine Breese

Did you forget daytime TV? A review of TV Guide Magazine, March 13, 2009 Submitted by: Aspirin Please from Des Moines, IA
While I do like the magazine format, I found it odd that TV Guide no longer furnishes the Daytime schedules, only nightly Primetime schedules. Whats with that? What's on TV is your business.
Also I found the content to mimic People Magazine, leans toward the inate and plays to the lowest common denominators. You know there are some "grown-up" subscribers who would enjoy intelligent and newsworthyness along with the insufferable "fluff" of Ken & Barbie antics. Do you have any editors over age 39 working there any longer?

The old one was much better - what happened to the CW Chanel? A review of TV Guide Magazine, January 9, 2009 Submitted by: Lee from Pacific Palisades, CA
I am a long-time customer and while I don't like the new format - less information overall about what is on the agenda, I am very unhappy about the fact that they no longer give listings on the CW chanel which has always been in this publication. WHAT IS THE REASON FOR ELIMINATING THIS CHANEL?
I will NOT renew my subscription for this reason unless there is a good explanation or it is returned. My favorite show "Everybody Hates Chris" is on that chanel.
Long-time customer

Junk A review of TV Guide Magazine, January 4, 2009 Submitted by: Ray
Old version was much better. New version is not worth half of its cost. Useless junk. For years I was subscribed to TV Guide. Not anymore. Buy a newspaper instead. Take your "improved" version back; we don't want it.

Don't bother A review of TV Guide Magazine, December 28, 2008 Submitted by: caretaker
I got this for my elderly mom who likes to watch TV during the day, thinking it would give her the listings. NO! Only has "prime time"
This is a total rip off. I don't want some celebrity rag crap, I want useful information for a home bound senior.
Anyone know of a print source for this? If she could use the internet to get this info she would not need it. Waste of money.

DON"T LIKE MAGAZINE A review of TV Guide Magazine, December 20, 2008 Submitted by: BLONDIE from Salem, Or
I WISH IT WOULD GO BACK TO THE "ORIGINAL" MAGAZINE, WITH ALL THE DAYTIME LISTING AND ETC. ALONG WITH ALL THE CABLE CHANNEL STATIONS. I DON"T LIKE THIS NEW VERSION AT ALL

WASTE OF MONEY A review of TV Guide Magazine, December 9, 2008 Submitted by: BEC616 from CHANDLER, AZ
VERY DISSAPOINTED NO DAYTIME LISTINGS

NOT WORTH THE MONEY1 A review of TV Guide Magazine, November 25, 2008 Submitted by: LB from Moore, OK
TV Guide? Not at all. I get the prime time listings from my newspaper. This magazine does nothing for me. The daily information of programing is not in it! I WILL NOT RENEW! This subscription was a total waste of my money!

Need More Programming Details... A review of TV Guide Magazine, November 24, 2008 Submitted by: hello
I was going to subscribe to TV Guide because the newspapers now have incomplete daytime program listings and have even dropped the late night listing. I really don't know what is playing anymore! But after reading the reviews, it appears that TV Guide which should have details is also cutting back their format. So, thanks but no thanks.

Daytime TV Nonexistent?? A review of TV Guide Magazine, October 29, 2008 Submitted by: Donita from North Providence, RI
I could not believe that there weren't any listing for daytime TV. I would like to know what's on during the day as well as night. There definitely needs to be daytime TV listing. Why aren't there any?

TV Guide A review of TV Guide Magazine, September 30, 2008 Submitted by: Anna
We are enjoying TV Guide but would really enjoy it better if they would put back a daily schedule. It use to have one. Why did they take it out???

A review of TV Guide Magazine, September 25, 2008 Submitted by: sodie
Doesn't have adequate daytime listing & hard to find. Wish they would bring back the old format.

Disappointed A review of TV Guide Magazine, January 15, 2008 Submitted by: Movie Buff from Cincinnati, Oh
I had subscribed to TV Guide with its smaller format for over 25 years and was very satisfied that it contained good local listings with program descriptions, etc. Then suddenly this glossy magazine appears which is more of a " tattler " than an information guide to TV usage. It sacrifices real information about the programs and substitutes drivel about a performer's life and sleepovers when this doesn't help me choose my viewing . I found that it was a waste to me, so I stopped my subscription readily.

Good Articles.
Would like the whole days schedules or at least Saturday and Sunday.

I couldn't live without my TV Guide A review of TV Guide Magazine, December 11, 2007 Submitted by: sammeland from Key West, FL
I have certain programs that I love and never want to miss. Unfortunately, I can neither remember which nights these programs come on nor which station they are on. This is why I depend on TV Guide. Also, I love their magazine opening to the actual guide. There I find great information which helps me decide which programs to watch and what to expect each week. I highly recommend this magazine to all TV viewers!!

What is on TV A review of TV Guide Magazine, December 10, 2007 Submitted by: ICTV from Somerville, MA
TV Guide is informative. The old TV Guide gave the listings for the whole day which was nice but the new version does not. The only good thing is you can look up the channel line up on-line.

I do not like the new format A review of TV Guide Magazine, December 10, 2007 Submitted by: 3m from Feasterville, PA
The book is bigger, doesn't fit easily on the table, I cann't find the late night listings, there use to be a conversion page where you could find out what channel something is on in your area (according to the cable company) but that isn't there, there are no numbers for the programs, when you combine 2 weeks in 1 magazine there is only 1 crossword puzzle.

Need more details A review of TV Guide Magazine, December 10, 2007 Submitted by: Kevin from Clifton Forge, va
More details are needed on programs that fall out of the 7PM tp 10PM category.

New Format Incomprehendable A review of TV Guide Magazine, December 10, 2007 Submitted by: Monda from NELSONVILLE, OH
I've been a TV Guide subscriber for over twenty years. The new magazine format shifts the focus from what the magazine's purpose is (to find tv programs in your area) to a true magazine which includes more fluff articles and glossy photos than tv schedule information. And after midnight, I can't even find what's on tv utilizing this periodical. TV Guide - get back to your roots and function - to guide your readers as to what's on their tv and when!

This is the best TV magazine A review of TV Guide Magazine, December 7, 2007 Submitted by: donna from St. Paul, MN
The newspaper no longer gives any details about the shows are about. That's probably the biggest reason I started getting the TV Guide. It also tells some good information on the people in the series.

This is an average TV Guide Magazine A review of TV Guide Magazine, December 7, 2007 Submitted by: Kathy from South Williamsport, PA
I enjoy the articles but really liked the old format when you could look up daytime (7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) TV shows on a daily basis. I usually have to rely on the TV to get this information. It's good for evening television but not useful for the daytime (weekends included).

A review of TV Guide Magazine, December 7, 2007 Submitted by: Vicki Champagne from Lubbock, TX
Though this mag has some good stories on what's happening in TV, I bought a subscription for daily channel listings. It is sorely lacking in this area. I was expecting daily listings (from 12a - 11:59p) and only got each day with ok listing from 6p-12a. There was one page with everything during the day listed in another section. Dumb!! This is why I did not renew.

Disappointed A review of TV Guide Magazine, December 7, 2007 Submitted by: oceandreamer from Arlington, TX
I used to have a subscription to TV Guide years ago, and when I subscribed this time, I was disappointed that it only had prime time shows and not daytime or nightime after 10pm listings.

A review of TV Guide Magazine, August 21, 2007 Submitted by: Fred from MA
The "new" TV Guide has many nice new features. The one major problem I see is that is no longer has local television coverage. For example one can not find out what is on each morning and afternoon or late night. It is now a national magazine instead.

New, Improved and Fabulous A review of TV Guide Magazine, August 20, 2007 Submitted by: Lacey W. from Rolling Hills Estates, CA
We bought this subscription for our son, who has always been a TV fan. When TV Guide was reformatted to look like an attractive and modern magazine, we had our doubts that it would be of any interest to us. Were we ever wrong! It has really interesting spins on the characters and programs on television, which is quite welcome considering that our major local newspaper just discontinued the TV section. The pictures of actors and actresses are well-photographed and not sensationalized as they are in the tabloids.
When the new one comes, we try to quickly grab it to see what interesting programs might be on that will appeal to us, or see exactly who is in the programs we do watch. We even read the expired magazines that our son puts out to recycle!

Frustrating, but indispensible A review of TV Guide Magazine, July 17, 2007 Submitted by: lau from Los Angeles, CA
While there are many things about TV Guide I find maddening, such as their limited listings, it is still the only magazine of its' kind out there. With many newspapers giving up their weekly TV listing magazine, TV Guide is the only other option. Yes, a person can go online to get thorough TV listings, but that simply isn't practical for most people in a real life setting while watching TV.

Do not like the new format A review of TV Guide Magazine, July 14, 2007 Submitted by: Kathleen from So. St. Paul, Mn
If I had another option, I would not subscribe to TV Guide. I am one of the few people who do not have cable. Local programming is the most important to me. And you direct me to online information. I do not have a computer either! I rarely read the articles in the magazine so that is of little interest to me. You should have kept ypur eye on the ball and kept this publication as a service to all tv watchers, not just cable, and forget about all of the articles.

TV Guide needs improvement! A review of TV Guide Magazine, July 13, 2007 Submitted by: 69roadrunner from Wappingers Falls, NY
TV Guide should be first and formost a guide to all programming on TV. This would include a 24/7 programming schedule. My local newspaper has a free TV schedule which shows the programing for each hour. Not a listing saying "various programs". Prime time is the only true breakdown of all the shows. Why can't this format be for all hours of the day?
I do like the articles and picks of the day. Crossword and Sudoko are ok.
Please be the best and improve the TV listings.

Best way to stay up to date on all your shows! A review of TV Guide Magazine, July 12, 2007 Submitted by: esox72 from Reading, PA
I love reading the new BIGGER TV Guide. I can catch up on all my shows and hear the latest about the next weeks' episodes. I don't get a chance to watch all the shows, but I can stay up to date by reading the latest in TV Guide. Great pictures, good stories, easy to read.

Great size, needs more info A review of TV Guide Magazine, July 12, 2007 Submitted by: maggie from downers grove, il
We really like the bigger, full-size version better. We also enjoy the articles as well. However, the new TV Guide is lacking weekend daytime information. We really miss that. Why is this info omitted?
