This magazine strengthens my bond with my beautiful gay teenage son A review of The Advocate Magazine, August 19, 2008 Submitted by: Cheeks from Nampa, ID
Without the Advocate I would feel lost in a world I knew nothing about. I am using it as a cheat sheet to help my gay teen son understand growing up gay. It helps me bring up discussions concerning everything from gay sex ed, politics, fashion, music, books but most importantly it shows him he is not alone and many gay teens have gone on to live great long lives. Showing him pictures of the gay athletes, congress represenatatives, rights advocates, writers and yes, even movie stars helps me to promote healthy role models for my son. I have offered my son magazines for his own age group, but come on he is a teen and doesn't really want to read the articles (the pictures are far more interesting...if you know what I mean...ha ha) The Advocate allows me to bring up topics without making it a homework project. So thank you because together my son and I are working on helping him love himself.

This is the best GLBT Magazine A review of The Advocate Magazine, December 18, 2007 Submitted by: malmony from Cleveland, OH
The Advocate is the best news source for the GLBT community. I am so glad that you support and recognize this segment of the population, and offer the magazine for college personnel at a discounted rate.

The Advocate Rocks A review of The Advocate Magazine, December 13, 2007 Submitted by: Hollywood from San Francisco, CA
The Advocate rocks - informative, current, intriguing. Politics, media, and hot issues that WE want to know about. Plus, they have actually printed some of my comments and letters. That shows they actually read what is submitted and that they care. Kudos to the Advocate. One of the few magazines that I will ALWAYS subscribe to.

number one in GLBT world A review of The Advocate Magazine, December 12, 2007 Submitted by: cellobabe from Vermillion, SD
This magazine is really great if you want to keep up to date with what is happening in the LGBT world. Sometimes it is a little biased towards certain groups, but all around it hits everyone. I enjoy hearing about what is going on in other parts of the world, and what is happening in the entertainment industry. I'm not a big fan of the new layout, but its still good!

It is nice because it is not loaded up with ads like most magazines.

A GREAT MAGAZINE FOR THE LGBTQ COMMUNITY AND STRAIGHTS WHO WOULD LIKE TO BE BETTER INFORMED! A review of The Advocate Magazine, September 18, 2007 Submitted by: C.McMaster, Tampa, Florida from Tampa, FL
The Advocate is an EXCELLENT source of information for ALL individuals who want to be 'connected' with the LGBTQ communities. It contains nonfictional information about discrimination, homophobia, LGBTQ's who have excelled in their professions and/or personal lives, LGBTQ movies, email addresses for LGBTQ shopping, polls for adults and teens to voice their opinions...as well as current events. Sure, it could be better with fewer advert.'s; however, these advertisements let you know what companies are supportive of The Advocate.

Often trivial. A review of The Advocate Magazine, July 12, 2007 Submitted by: delapa
Could definitely use less celebrity "news" and certainly less glamorization of expensive and useless objects. It usually provides me with a few interesting stories, but it could be so much better.
