About American Scientist Magazine: American Scientist, the magazine of the Sigma Xi scientific research society, is an illustrated magazine about science and technology. Published since 1913, the magazine is filled with feature articles written by prominent scientists and engineers, reviewing important work in fields that range from molecular biology to computer engineering. Also included are special features such as the Scientists' Bookshelf, which reviews the latest science books, and the Science Observer, which gives readers a behind-the-scenes look at science, plus cartoons and an annual children's section in which young readers review books, software, and other products for young scientists.
