OHJ  is  unique among house magaxines, because its  writers never lose sight of their intended audience.  It addresses people who love, own, deal with, restore, and use old buildings.  It teaches respect, promotes awareness, informs, educates and guides those well-intentioned mortals to correct, tasteful, imaginative and viable solutions to the problems they face.  And while their photography is excellent, they are much much more than a pretty pictures magazine.  They  find resources for materials and craftsmen, they introduce the past  and demystify it to the caretakers of its remains. There is nothing superficial or silly about QHJ.  It is serious reading that produces magic results. in the inspired preservation. conservation, and respectful reuse of what our past has left us..

Old House Journal is perfect for anyone with a house that's at least 50 years old.  They provide very detailed instructions for repairs, information on different styles, and lots of information.  This is great reference tool for any old home owner.

I think Old House Journal is a great idea mag for home projects and figuring out how you want our home to look.  It is also a good resource for hard to find restoration projects.  If you are lookig for how to tips and guides this magazine is not for you
