"Best Sports Magazine Ever" A review of Sports Illustrated Magazine, October 14, 2008 Submitted by: Pete
Love it.

A review of Sports Illustrated Magazine, September 23, 2008 Submitted by: Chuck from Harrisonburg, VA
I credit SI and the great writers/storytellers for my academic success! The vocabulary, human interest stories that gave me some background in history, geography, and science (such as the John Akii-Bua story for a history of Uganda and Mamo Wolde for Ethiopia, learning my states through following the NFL and NBA, a background in physiology from articles about training and injuries/rehab., track & field events and people from around the world, and on and on.
After more than 20 years away from SI, we have subscribed so that my son can have the same advantages. We've been cover to cover readers since we started receiving it again this summer. Thank you for such an enjoyable way to broaden our world.

Divorce??? A review of Sports Illustrated Magazine, December 16, 2007 Submitted by: Sportnut's Wife from Sacramento, Ca
The only time I thought my husband would leave me in 40 years of marriage is when I forgot to renew his subscription to SI!

Buy it for the photography, value it for the articles A review of Sports Illustrated Magazine, December 14, 2007 Submitted by: bomill from ann arbor, mi
With 50 years experience, Sports Illustrated has got it right and keeps on getting it right. The photographs are spectacular and the articles are every bit as good.

SI: Where writers excel! A review of Sports Illustrated Magazine, December 12, 2007 Submitted by: Hawkeye from Kansas City, KS
As a sports journalist myself, I have long been a subscriber to SI because of the quality of writing. Rick Reilly (sp?) alone was worth the price of the magazine and I will sorely miss him. I also particularly enjoy the photography and especially the three pages of great photos. The golf section is also a plus where I find John Garrity to be especially good. The lone reason I did not give it a five-star rating is that there are some stories that I have no interest - although I'm fully aware that one of SI's strengths is reaching out to so many.

Best sports magazine A review of Sports Illustrated Magazine, December 11, 2007 Submitted by: Jack from Sun City West, AZ
I enjoy your magazine and read it from cover to the other every week. SI keeps me up to date on sports and I thoroughly enjoy it. I look forward to getting it each week and find this is the one magazine that is often delayed in delivery when the bathing suit issue comes out. Thanks for all your work.

This is an excellent sports magazine for the thinking fan. A review of Sports Illustrated Magazine, December 10, 2007 Submitted by: tankjack from Kenmore, WA
At one level, Sports Illustrated (SI) provides weekly sports news on the various major and minor sports, with lengthy articles on the big games and the big names. These are always well-written but basically provide information that can be gotten elsewhere. However, the distinguishing feature of SI that has kept me subscribing for decades is its periodic in-depth examinations of serious topics and newsmaking events. SI will explore the historical and sociological aspects of an issue such as steroids in a thorough and generally even handed manner, leaving the reader considerably better informed than he was before.

My favorite magazine of all time A review of Sports Illustrated Magazine, December 10, 2007 Submitted by: Randy

Great magazine for all sports A review of Sports Illustrated Magazine, December 10, 2007 Submitted by: footballfanatic from greenwood, in
i think sports illustrated is a very good sports magazine. it is well informative and updated on everything that happens in the sports world. im a very big football fan and they have extensive coverage on all the teams and whats happening. the price of their magazine is reasonable for a magazine that you receive weekly. they even inform you of whats on television in the upcoming week as well as what channel to catch the program on and the time. for me, there isnt another sports magazine that could compare with si. as a bonus you even get the si swimsuit edition evert year with your subcription. what could be better than sports and beautiful women?!! i have been a long time loyal subcriber to si and strongly recommend everyone to buy this magazine. i wouldnt be aw well informed on all my teams if it werent for si.

The Best A review of Sports Illustrated Magazine, July 19, 2007 Submitted by: MJSmith from Baltimore, MD
I have been reading SI since 1981 and enjoy something in every issue. Not every issue is not cover to cover readable and interesting, however every issue does have articles that are found to be enjoyable.

The best sports magazine with the best writing on the market. A review of Sports Illustrated Magazine, July 16, 2007 Submitted by: Dick Swanson from Greensboro, NC
As a professional sport historian and a subscriber to Sports Illustrated for most of the past 50 years, I feel I can vouch for the high quality of this magazine. With a tradition of engaging many of the finest writers available, SI brings the most insightful, engaging and complete coverage of sports available today.

Excellent writing and photos A review of Sports Illustrated Magazine, July 13, 2007 Submitted by: Fritz from 1200 Lake Rise Place, TN
I have read Sports Illustrated since the 1954 issue with Eddie Mathews on the cover. Since that time it has gotten better and now is the best sports journal and maybe the best magazine for taking on controversial topics without any preconcieved agendas.

I've been taking Sports Illustrated for years. I have noticed a shift to more emphasis on pro sports and social/political issues (e.g. global warming, international affairs). I'm more of a college sports fan and look forward to the football and basketball previews. The first article I read each week is the "Life of (Rick) Reilly" - he is a great writer.

A review of Sports Illustrated Magazine, July 12, 2007 Submitted by: terapista from Andover, MA
I find SI's sports articles well researched and engagingly written. The tennis related articles are always the first stories I would read but even stories about sports in which I have superficial knowledge hold my interest. I'm disappointed that Steve Rushin is no longer writing for SI. I miss his humor and sardonic wit. Rich Reilly is another favorite of mine especially when he writes about topics of 'human interest'. I can do without the Swim Suit Issue. This must be the only issue I don't bother to read. Dr. Z's picks have caused me to lose a number of football pools. I will now read ESPN Mag for their football opinions and maybe even March Madness picks.

Great coverage for a great price for the sports enthusiast. A review of Sports Illustrated Magazine, July 12, 2007 Submitted by: Mike from St. Louis, MO
I have enjoyed Sports Illustrated for many years, and I find it to be a great weekly friend. It covers stories that you would not get on the nightly news, and it covers not only the major sports but also many of the minor sporting events. This is much more than a weekly summary of what happened in sports during the week. It tells inside stories of teams and individuals; and it courageously will confront issues that are impacting, both positively and negatively, the sporting arenas. The writers are professionals and do not appear biased in their presentations. It is an enjoyable publication for anyone who wants to get a different (inside) slant on what is happening in the sporting world.

The best sports magazine A review of Sports Illustrated Magazine, July 12, 2007 Submitted by: DT from New Albany, MS
Although I am a female, I am a huge sports fan. I enjoy the articles, especially those on college athletes. Rick Reilly is tremendous. His column is worth the price of a subscription. Not only do I read the magazine, but I pass it along to friends at work to enjoy, too.
