2 Star ReviewFading Quality
A review of US News & World Report Magazine, October 1, 2009
Submitted by: doctor

I was disappointed to learn that US News and World Report is not a weekly publication. The selected topics for each monthly edition are covered in too much depth, and much of the discussion is merely a rehash of previously published information. I will not renew my subscription.

1 Star ReviewNew format is worthless
A review of US News & World Report Magazine, August 4, 2009
Submitted by: Political centrist

They changed formats in the middle of my multi-year subscription. Gone: Any news about the week and most of the good analytical writing. Newsweek also changed formats, but it became arguably a considerably better newsmagazine in the process while retaining its best writers.

5 Star ReviewComprehensive news magazine.
A review of US News & World Report Magazine, July 28, 2009
Submitted by: Bruce from Burke, VA

I have already received my first two issues.  I am thus far pleased at the comprehensive and thorough review of the selected monthly topic.  The articles and commentaries appear insightful.

There seems to be far more substance to this magazine than the previous weekly news magazine (Newsweek) that I subscribed to.

1 Star ReviewWhat happened to the diverse content?
A review of US News & World Report Magazine, April 29, 2009
Submitted by: Karl from Casa Grande, AZ

I subscribed remembering the magazine that had feature articles, then a page on art, one on religion, one on theater, etc.  What I received was a one topic issue (Green).  Please tell me the old US News & World Report will be in my box this month.

1 Star ReviewVery disappointed in new format
A review of US News & World Report Magazine, April 14, 2009
Submitted by: Donald Dodge from Dearborn, MI

The new format of US News is totally unsatisfactory to me. I took it as a better perspective than a daily newspaper. The new format which focuses entirely on a given topic, is very poor as far as I am concerned. It would please me if you refunded the balance on my perscription. I have now subscribed to Newsweek, which is a satisfactory substitute for the provious US News. I had recently given US News to a friend (Clara C). Her breaction is the same as mine, regretably.

2 Star ReviewNot like it used to be.

Many many changes over the years.  Definately not like it used to be. I thought my son would get some useful information to use in school.  There is very little news, mostly opinions.

So so magazine.,

I have never been an avid magazine reader but I have tried over the years to subscribe to Time, USN&WR and others. I have simply never gotten enough satisfaction from them to continue the subscriptions.

4 Star ReviewAn up to date news magazine!
A review of US News & World Report Magazine, January 30, 2009
Submitted by: Pam from Liberal, KS

I remember reading this magazine decades ago during government class in high school...a "must read".    I had a difficult time reading it back in the late 60's-early 70's.  Today, the format has changed and is comparative to others in the same caliber or subject line.  The issues I have read (believe it or not I have read these) are easy to read and attractive or interesting to the eye.  They flow easy and I find myself going right on to the next article without hesitation.  The first issue I read informed me about our new President, before he was actively in office.  This way I became familiar with his platforms and interests or goals.  I do like it.  I give it a 4 out of 5 stars, because it is not perfect...but almost.

3 Star ReviewGone Downhill ...
A review of US News & World Report Magazine, January 7, 2009
Submitted by: Colorado Springs

I have subscribed to USNWR for over 20 years.  It seems to me the articles have gotten less detailed over the years.  There is too much focus on "special" issue; for example, best colleges, best towns to retire, etc.

The change to a bi-weekly format did not help either.

I am going to give Newsweek a try.

4 Star Reviewgood middle of the road politics
A review of US News & World Report Magazine, December 31, 2008

I have used newsmagizines ror 70 years. Most are too oppinuated in their political stances. Yours is better. However I am out of the country for three months in the winter and so don"t  orrder yearly magazines.

I am using this magazine as a supplement  for class room curriculum and discussion.   the articles help me keep my information up to date.  Since I only have recieved one copy, I cannot make a judgement at this time as to whether it will be non basis on controversial topics.

A great weekly news magazine that provides balanced reporting.  "Washington Whispers" gives a good insight into what is happening in the Federal Government.

I like US News and World Report.  It is very informative and not too liberal.

5 Star Reviewunbiased reporting
A review of US News & World Report Magazine, September 10, 2008
Submitted by: Shakes from Portland, Or

If you want to steer clear of the left or right wing bias, read this magazine.  The writers may be conservative, but their reviews are rational and articulate.  The articles are ahead of the curve, and the focused reporting allows me to contemplate the issues rather than be manipulated by a journalist' concept.  If you want the facts--this is one reliable place to find them.

To increase your readership turn "right". further diferentiate yourself from Time and Newsweek by being more for free enterprise less for socialistic ideas such as universal health care.

The liberal press has given up reporting all the news in favor of being "attack dogs". Reasonable people will ultimately see through this.

Your broad balance of international & domestic along with culture, business and what's up is to the point. One can read the magazine and gain some facts rather than just opinions.

2 Star ReviewA very average news magazine
A review of US News & World Report Magazine, December 10, 2007
Submitted by: PWB

US News and World Report is not the magazine it used to be.  It used to be a good, solid alternative to TIME and NEWSWEEK, but no longer.  The covers belong on the cover of REDBOOK or some similar magazine.  There seems to be less and less hard news and more and more fluff.  And lots of white space on the pages.  Little hard reporting.

4 Star ReviewGraduate Schools need more attention in this magazine

To Whom it may Concern:

I really like the style and the language of your magazine, and I think it is a perfect information kit as for high school and college students so as for regular readers. It seems to me that the majority of topics is covered about the choice and adaptation to the college environment for freshmen and high-school graduates. However I was not able to see anything that touches the topics of those who are in college already and who thinks about changing their carrier. It would be very good idea to touch some issues on continuing and professional education such as Law, Medicine, and Business in way that how one can pursue those field and degrees (M.D. J.D.) even if he or she graduated from college. How a person can get his chance to go to Medical or Law school if he/she wasn't able to succeed in  college? What new opportunities in educational carrier have those who ones dropped their college education? Some answers on thess questions are available for students at college, but many of us start to think about them after graduation.

US News & World report has perfect balance of news, science, world and consumer issues covered. I found it much better than Time or Newsweek. Their periodic ratings of schools, medical facilities and the like are second to none!

5 Star ReviewBalanced news reporting
A review of US News & World Report Magazine, July 12, 2007
Submitted by: Teo from Santa Fe County, NM

This  weekly mag is the most objective I've found of U.S news periodicals, something I wouldn't say about Time or Newsweek.  This characteristic is what's most important to me about Us News .....

In addition it frequently puts out practical reports on everyday subjects that the reader can put to good use, on subjects such as finances, health, recreating.
