a good metal magazine

I usually read Metal Maniacs from cover to cover. They stay true to the extreme metal lover. They do not throw in the flavor of the week/commercial bands like some other publications. I love Black Metal and they devote a lot of space to these kinds of bands. Not just the hardcore Black Metal. All kinds including progressive, industrial, symphonic, viking etc. I would appreciate more record reviews though because a lot of times I am compelled to buy a CD just by the review. All in all one of my favorite metal publications, and I read a lot of them.

I've been reading Metal Maniacs for about nine years now, and I must say that it is so far the only-mass distributed US metal magazine that captures the essence of continental Europe's periodicals. The focus is on real metal (i.e. death, thrash, black, power) with some occasional features on hardcore and crust bands, but no emo/metalcore bands. So - no wimpy, trendy bullshit, no Mudvayne here so - FAKERS BEWARE! Having been an excessive metal fan for decades now, I can credit this magazine with introducing me to more new bands than any other mag out there.
