 One Negative Note

I enjoy the magazine, but my only complaint is in the advice portion. John Lyons always refers to a book that someone should read. That is really annoying for the people who may not have that problem, but read it for tips or ideas. He could still suggest his book, but also leave one tip to get them started. Not only would it be more interesting for the reader, he would encourage some positive work to be done, and if the person can afford the book, they probably will go out and buy it, but if not, at least they have something they can work on.
 This isone of themost informative mags I have ever read!

I highly recommend this magazine for anyone that rides, be it Western , English , Beginner or Expert.. There are many tips and ideas about working WITH your horse in a way that he will understand and also gives you a chance to put yourself in check.. are your the problem, or the horse. Maybe it's just a communications problem. ..Tons of info.. nicely presented.

I appreciate the encouraging words by Mr. Lyons. Horsemen need that to put things in perspective. Keep it up, Mr Lyons.

Best horse training mag I have seen. Leans toward Western, but not exclusively. Well worht the money and time taken to read it.

As a new horse owner that's not new to horses; John Lyons' Perfect Horse is right on target. I have yet to find an article that didn't answer those need to know questions, but always forget to ask. From Training to Nutrition and Healthcare, "Perfect Horse" covers it all !!
More importantly "Perfect Horse" adresses equine issues from a common sense and practicle approach.Giving it's readers the understanding that, there is always more than 1 way to accomplish difficult or time consuming tasks.
If my horse could choose what she wanted me to know, she would undoubtedly choose John Lyons' "Perfect Horse" as my guide.

I love his opening page and his Christianity. I find his training tips are easy for me to follow. I have used many on my green horse of 15 years. She's pretty smart and catches on quickly. I really look at the care giving products and try to find the best for my animal. Overall, I really enjoy the magazine and all the articles I find are very interesting.

Perfect Horse is the only equine magazine I perscribe to because it is the only magazine I have found that gives straight forward adivce on training issues. Also, it gives the latest medical advice and practical iformation about routine things such as, stall cleaning tips.
