About The Week Magazine: THE WEEK Magazine is a spirited newsweekly that distills the best of news, opinion, and ideas from the U.S. and international media. It's smart, incisive, wry. Every week, THE WEEK's editors scour hundreds of newspapers, magazines, and Web sites (U.S. and foreign), searching for the most intriguing stories and the most thoughtful commentary-left, right, and everything in between. Covering the entire political waterfront. The best of what they find gets reported-concise, intelligent, crisp. THE WEEK Magazine's format is straightforward yet information-packed. Its focus is broad: U.S. and international news, the best opinion columns from here and abroad, health and science, books, film, the arts, leisure activities. Besides bringing readers up to date on the world scene, THE WEEK reports on what the smartest people are saying about it.

4 Star ReviewExcellent recap of current events and general reaction to those events
A review of The Week Magazine, December 29, 2009
Submitted by: HappyMommyNC from Raleigh, NC

As the stay-home mom of a 2 year old and a 4 year old, I was feeling cut off from the world and completely ignorant of current events.  A friend recommended The Week as a non-partisan, unbiased account of the week in review, and I have found it to be exactly that.  Even if I only get a chance to read 1/2 the articles, I skim the headlines throughout this concise, well-written magazine, and I feel like I at least have a sense of what's going on in the world.

I highly recommend this magazine to anyone, but especially people who are short on time and are committed to getting a well-rounded, unbiased view of events.

2 Star ReviewNot for a salon waiting room.
A review of The Week Magazine, December 1, 2009
Submitted by: Salon owner

I ordered this magazine for a hair salon waiting room.  The description states "all you need to know about everything that matters".  That would be true if politics were your interest.  There are a few off politic things, but the majority is related to politics.  I assumed it would be a general knowledge magazine.  I cannot put this in my waiting room as it turns people off.  It was a waste of money in my situation.

Highly readable sans scads of advertising inserts. I especially enjoy the non-opinionated articles.
