This magazine reminds me of my paternal grandparents' home in KS. When I read it I want to go into their home to say "Hi grandmother and grandpa! How are you doing?" It brings me the warmth of love from the two of them! I can see Grandpa in his rocker with a blanket over his lap. Grandmother would be in the kitchen fixing him his fried lettuce, which he loved. I don't see how he could eat it with all the fat it had. I wouldn't eat it! Old homes to me means the family being together.

The magazine does not really specialize in any one particular area. If anything, it is too broad in its scope. Perhaps too much attention is given to decorating, which the show is not really about. For that reason I am a bit dissappointed in it.

Don't be mislead by the title, this is not just a magazine for those with an "old house". Lots of great articles and ideas about home and landscaping for any homeowner. Articles about pros and cons of various types of products were really helpful when planning to build my house. My only complaint is too many ads...which seems to be the norm in every magazine these days.

This is an excellent journal if you own a histroic or older home, but also owners of newer homes will benefit because the the journal features many innovative prooducts and general repair tips.. You will get many ideas on how to remodel or build your new space.

This is the best magazine. I've kept all my old issues and this year gave 2 subscriptions as gifts. Even if you aren't already a do-it-yourself kind of person, after reading some of the articles, you might decide to save money and do-it-yourself. And it's packed with home ideas.
