About Surface Magazine: Surface Magazine is a design magazine, and they make no apologies for it. Too often the debate about coverage of design in its many forms is reduced to a superficial gloss on who wore what when, while sitting on which exorbitantly-priced Milanese seating unit. They do strive to present a gorgeous forum for groundbreaking design - fashion, industrial architectural and otherwise - in a print environment equally innovative and forward-thinking. They also aim to give their readers - creative professionals themselves - the perspective of their peers craftsmen and artists - a look beneath the surface, so to speak. As much as any other pursuit, from sports to politics, design can be used as a lens for better viewing and understanding our culture, our community and our shared aspirations. The future, in the most literal sense, is built by those who design it. Those visions will appear in Surface first.
