Trains Magazine a with Nephew

I have a special needs nephew who has been in love with trains since he was a tiny boy. He knows everything there is to know about steam engines and loves to look at pictures of trains and read anything he can about them. I have given him the gift of Trains Magazine for several years now - and he waits patiently and excitedly every month for the next addition. My nephew is a gift to our family and this is the best gift I could ever give him. However, on at least 3 occasions - he did not receive his magazine - which causes great stress and turmoil for my nephew. On these occasions, I have called Magazine Line and they have fixed the problem. The first time it happened, my nephew was sent the back 2 issues he missed - as well as a bonus magazine for the trouble. (AWESOME!) The last time it took 6 mths to correct, no old issues were sent, and no restitution to my distraught nephew. (HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE). I love the product, but am becoming very frustrated with the subscription. Might have to look elsewhere for the magazine if problems continue.

Great for Railroad Buffs

I'm glad to have found "Trains" available from Student Mags. It offers a broad range of topics (I'm partial to passenger service), well-written articles and stunning photography. I just wish Student Mags could offer a bigger discount on it!

This magazine has deteriorated immensely. "Rock Trains" are about as fascinating as a public urinal. Articles regarding Container trains are also a bore. Modern railroading has lost it romance and diversity. Locomotives that look like interplanatory vehicles and photos of trains that look like duplicates. "Trians" has ceased to be a hobby oriented publication. I will not renew my subscirption. Classis Trains is a much better magazine: colorful engines, brightly painted rolling stock, varieties of steam and other captivating articles. Too bad. I was a avid reader of "Trains" for 40 odd rears.
