Magazine Overview

About The Economist (Print Only)

Our vision of the world, our style and our whole philosophy are different from other publications. We are international, we stress the links between politics and business, we are irreverent and we are independent.

Edited in London since 1843, The Economist is a weekly international news and business publication, offering clear reporting, commentary and analysis on world current affairs, business, finance, science and technology, culture, society, media and the arts. As noted on its contents page, The Economist's goal is to "take part in a severe contest between intelligence, which presses forward, and an unworthy, timid ignorance obstructing our progress."

Your paid subscription to The Economist includes the print-only edition. The digital edition may be purchased separately or as a bundle with the print edition. Type "The Economist" in the search box.

Great Source of Information

THE ECONOMIST is a great source of information on current events around the world. I find the articles to be interesting, informative and mostly balanced views of events and places they describe. My only problem is the cost of a subscription. As one ona very fixed income and tight budget, I cannot expend that amount of money for a subscription. However I will continue to look for the magazine in local libraries.

Very well written articles, extremely up to date, all encompassing and relevant!

My only criticism is the organization and layout, it seems cluttered And somewhat chaotic or random.

I always count on The Economist to tackle the spread of misinformation worldwide

The economist is the sine qua non of the carefully balanced and persuasive world view.

Broad look at world news

This magazine provides a broad view of the world with short updates on what is happening in a large number of countries. For someone who is following events in specific countries or for someone traveling to a particular are, this weekly update would probably be quite useful. For me, it has too broad a scope for regular reading. Since I prefer the focus of other weekly magazines to which I subscribe, I end up reading very little from this magazine.
