Informative, but often obscene

Moviemaker has good technical and marketing research, but the movies featured are often deviant or violent. The magazine would be a lot better if higher quality movies were used for examples and interviews.

Only for film students

This magazine is not at all what I expected. You will only enjoy it if you are a film student or in the business of making your own movies.

best resource for independent filmmakers

MovieMaker magazine is by far the best resource for independent filmmakers out there. Enough information to turn an amateur videofile into a bonafide film savant; there’s even a wealth of just plain entertaining stuff too! Well done.

great info for ANY moviemaker!

When I first got my first magazine, I thought "do I really need this?' But as time went by, I started torealize just how little I really knew. Moviemaker magazine has widened my understanding of "the business", and has made me realize that, YES, I can do this! I appreciate such extras as the Guide to Making Movies - it tells it like it is, and doesn't hold back anything. Though I am presently into making docs, I know this info can apply to every kind of filmmaking, no matter what the genre. Thanks for a great mag!
